Creative contribution to destination-scale master planning for a large integrated entertainment resort.
Daren and business partner Erik Neergaard formed a studio called Arc Thematic specifically to concept and design a proposed theme park in the U.K. called Paramount London Resort. The park was to have featured Paramount IP along with BBC and Aardman Entertainment properties, and designed for 14 million+ annual visitors.
Arc Thematic worked with the owners, Paramount, and JRA to develop a blue sky concept and park-wide program and layout through Concept Design. In early Schematic the project was placed on hold due to financial and bureaucratic hurdles. However through the process Daren was exposed to complex master planning, stakeholder, and procedural processes which have shaped his creative and pragmatic leadership since.
While the specifics of the original design remain confidential, the project may someday come to fruition.
